The brief was to reimagine the existing rather dark and empty garden which was dominated by towering laurel hedges. Now the upper garden opens out onto a generous entertaining terrace with space to seat friends and family. The planting here is soft and romantic with wispy grasses and silvery lamb’s ears contrasting with formal structural yew and bay balls and punctuated by two gorgeous multi-stem Amelanchier trees.

A large formal lawn is flanked by extensive perennial planting which provides colour and interest throughout the year. From here a majestic three arch oak pergola frames the steps down to the pool terrace where you can relax on sun loungers or sip a cold drink in the dappled shade of the roof-trained trees.
